Island Cottage in the Heart of the Pacific Northwest (Near Seattle)
Our newly restored historic cottage is located the town of Winslow on Bainbridge Island near Seattle. The small cottage has one bedroom, suitable for a couple. It’s a 10 minute walk to the ferry and a 30 minute ferry ride to the tourist area of downtown Seattle. It’s about a 20 min taxi or train ride from downtown Seattle to SeaTac International Airport located in Tacoma, Washington. (Also, there is a ferry from Seattle to downtown Victoria, Canada.) Our home is located in a friendly small town neighborhood. It is only a 5 minute walk to downtown Winslow, which has great restaurants, markets, coffee shops, shopping, and marina. It’s a vibrant community with both locals and tourists. Bainbridge Island has a population of about 24,000 but is mostly forest and has several public beaches, so there are plenty of hiking trails and kayaking areas around the island. Our car will be available for trips off the island, being only a few hours away from the scenic views of Olympic National Park, Mt. Rainer, and the Pacific Ocean. There are two bikes for use to explore bike trails around Puget Sound. The weather is usually sunny and warm from June through September.

This was yet another excellent exchange experience for us. This home was bright and clean, and a very comfortable place to stay. We also enjoyed the location. Anna was a very easy to communicate with and was well organized. We had no difficulties or surprises during the exchange. In addition, we felt that our guests took excellent care of our home, leaving it spotlessly clean. Anna was even able to help us out with navigating getting our car to the mechanic in our home town when there was an unexpected issue. We would be happy to exchange with Anna any time in the future, and can strongly recommend her for home exchanges.

This was a great experience and exceeded our expectations. Lejre was a wonderful area and full of historical surprises. Børge and Jytte were extraordinary hosts and good communicators, providing an impressive amount of resources and guides for activities throughout all of Denmark. Their house was spacious and garden lovely. We highly recommend them for home exchanges.
