Bright apartment with a view over the Botanic Garden

Comfy and sunny apartment a five minutes’ walk from the old town. It has a large living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a small terrace and a car park in the building. We have WiFi, dishwasher, air conditioning and all kind of amenities for children (specially toys!). The flat sleeps 5 people.

From our house you can easily walk to Valencia beautiful old town and city centre, visit the Botanic Garden and the Valencian Institute for Modern Art (IVAM) or enjoy a bike ride or a walk in the river (which, in fact, it’s not a river any more but a huge garden!). You can use our bikes or the public bike service as we have one station just round the corner. Valencia is a perfect city to bike as is flat and there are a lot of cycle lanes.

The city beach, Malvarrosa, and the beautiful beach of El Saler are just a 20 minute ride or you can also take a bus or the underground to arrive there. The amazing City of Arts and Sciences is also easily accessible by car (15 minutes) or by bus. Our house is very well connected by public transportation and from the nearest bus and underground stops you’ll be able to go to the main tourist attractions.

In our neighborhood you may find supermarkets, a market, playgrounds and some good restaurants and cafes. There is also a nearby mall, tennis courts and an indoor pool.

If you are interested in our offer and would like more information we would be glad to answer all your questions about our home and all the beautiful things you can visit in our region!

Neighborhood

About the neighborhood

Despite being the 3rd city of Spain, Valencia is not that big and from our house you will easily arrive to all the touristic sites. We are just 5 minutes walking from the old town, which is really worth a visit. The Cathedral, the old medieval gates of the city (Torres de Serrano and Torres de Quart), the Lonja de la Seda (World Heritage Site), the Central Market, St. John’s Church, the recently restored frescoes of St. Nicholas Church… The Town Hall and the city centre with all the shops are also very near, as well as the Marqués de Dos Aguas Palace and Mercado de Colón, two other must-see.

For modern Valencia you can visit the IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art), which is in our neighbourhood, and the amazing City of Arts and Science, which is only a 15 minute ride.

Valencia is also a city of gardens, among them the Botanical Garden, the gardens of Viveros, the charming gardens of Monforte and what we call the “río” (river, 5 minutes from our house), the old riverbed now turned into a huge garden. If you like running, that’s your place! It’s also a wonderful place for biking, walking or playing with the children in one of the playgrounds (like the one called Gulliver, which children adore!).

But if you are coming to Valencia we are sure that you will want to go to the beach. Malvarrosa, Las Arenas and Patacona beaches are just a 20 minute ride from our house. The beautiful beach of El Saler, with its dunes and next to the natural site of La Albufera (not to miss!), is also near.

Thanks to its central location, Valencia is a perfect base from where to explore the region. To the north, we recommend the roman theatre and the castle of Sagunto, the hot springs of Montanejos, the beaches and villas of Benicassim and the beautiful sea village of Peñíscola, with its old town and castle, which has been used as a location for Game of Thrones. There are also many beautiful hikes and villages in the mountains, in what is called the Maestrazgo, specially the medieval villages of Morella and Rubielos de Mora.

To the south, you can visit the castle of Játiva, the picturesque village of Altea, Calpe and its Peñón de Ifach, Dénia, the castle of Guadalest or the coves of Jávea. Near Benidorm you may also find Terra Mítica, an amusement park. All of them are easy daytrips.

If you have children, they will be happy to visit Bioparc, the city zoo, Dinopolis, a dino park , and Aquarama, a water park.

From Valencia you also have the possibility to visit Madrid and Barcelona thanks to the AVE (high speed train), which leaves you in these cities in less than two hours.

Last but not least, Valencia is home for las Fallas and the paella. The real one is only to be eaten here and, as we valencians say, the other ones are “yellow rice” but not paella!

We had a great time in Berlin! The apartment is comfortable and has a lot of charm. We loved the neighbourhood, which is very well connected to the rest of the city by tram. Patric and Gesine are very nice and gave us lots of information so we could get around the city like true Berliners. We were in contact with them throughout the exchange and they took very good care of our home.

We had a wonderful holiday in Valencia. The flat is very comfortable and in a fantastic location in the city with the old town only 5 minutes walk away, and buses and the underground train network easily accessible. Paula and Javier were so lovely and helpful and left our house in perfect condition.

Romina and Steve have a beautiful and cosy house in a charming town near London. They are experienced home exchangers and you can see it in every detail. They are kind and helpful and communication with them was always easy and very friendly. Our apartment was also perfect when we came back. We had a great time and highly recommend this swap!

We loved to travel when we had no children and now we don’t want to miss the opportunity to discover the world with them. A second-generation of home exchangers, we like to immerse in the places we go and visit places off the beaten track. We like nature, good food and meeting new people. We are respectful and will do our best to make the family that comes to our house feel at home.
