Near Dublin - Maynooth, Ireland.
The accommodation consists of three bedrooms (one en-suite) with three double beds - we also have camp/sofa beds. We have two adult bikes and one teenagers' bike available for your use. Maynooth is part of the Royal Canal Greenway https://greenwaysireland.org/royal-canal-greenway. Our car is a Skoda Estate which we are happy for you to use.
We are located in the pretty University town of Maynooth, which is 25km from Dublin City Centre. Maynooth is 30 mins by car to Dublin city centre and in the Dublin city bus and rail network so there are several bus routes (Dublin Bus) and commuter trains to Dublin city centre daily. The website www.discoverireland.ie has lots of information on the many tourist attractions in Dublin City. Maynooth itself is a lovely, vibrant, university-town with many good shops, hotels, restaurants and pubs. Maynooth is beside the M4/5/6 motorway which links to the West and North West of Ireland.
Our house is in the Moyglare Abbey estate and is about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Maynooth town. There are many major tourist attractions near to Maynooth, obviously Dublin with all its attractions but also near us you can visit Newgrange, Trim castle, the National Stud and Japanese gardens, the Boyne Valley and much more.
We are a family of two adults and one 15 year old 6 foot tall boy . Sometimes our our friends (a couple) travel with us! We have done 15 successful exchanges to date and look forward to many more. We are interested in exchanging within Ireland as well as outside.
Stair lift has been added to the house and the shower room has been adapted for a person with mobility issues (wet room, seat in shower). Not wheelchair accessible but suitable for person on crutches or elderly person. We also have two orthopedic armchairs. We do not require same in the place we go to. Our house has been adapted for a relative who stays with us from time to time. We can borrow baby equipment if necessary.
We own a dog but he does not travel with us. You are welcome to bring your dog the garden is enclosed and secure.

About the neighborhood
Maynooth is a lovely, picturesque, university town with many nice restaurants, hotels and bars. The town is very well serviced and has several shopping centres and one large retail park. The town is also near to the Liffey Valley shopping centre. Our house is in the Moyglare Abbey estate and it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the centre of Maynooth town. We are near the country side but also near to the train and bus stations with regular services to Dublin City. The Royal Canal goes through Maynooth and there is a park on the grounds of the college. There are numerous equestrian centres in the area. Maynooth is just off the M4/N4 motorway and near the M50 motorway and so it is a good location from which to explore the island of Ireland.

We are a family of two adults and one teenage boy. Ann is a teacher, Kevin works in financial administration. Tommy is 15 and nearly 6 foot tall! . We own a dog but he goes to kennels while we are doing house exchanges - you are welcome to bring your pets to our home. We are a non-smoking household so we ask you don't smoke in our house but there are two sheltered outdoor seating areas and you are welcome to smoke there instead :)
