Comfortable house close to Amsterdam, Haarlem, National Park and Seaside
The house, built in 1930, is located in a quiet area of Overveen, next to Haarlem. It has a frontyard, a backyard and a balcony on the south. The house has three floors, three bedrooms with double beds, two bathrooms and a toilet on each floor, as well as two studies.
The location is perfect for both lovers of nature and city. One can get around easily without the use of a car: we usually get around by bike and by train. From Haarlem station there are frequent trains that bring you anywhere you want to go to in the Netherlands. In our small country everything is nearby.
It is only 1,5 km to the center of Haarlem, a beautiful old city with lots of bars, restaurants, shops and famous museums, such as the Frans Hals Museum and the Teylers Museum. The nearest trainstation of Haarlem is 1,5 km (ten minutes by bike), from there it's 17 minutes by train to Amsterdam (19 km).
There are also direct train connections to other cities you might want to visit, such as The Hague (40 km, 30 minutes by train) or Rotterdam (53 km, 1 hour by train).
The nearest airport is Schiphol (13 km).
For those who love cycling, walking, swimming and sunbathing, Bloemendaal beach is 5,9 km from our house, and the dunes and lakes in National Park Kennemerduinen at only 2,3 km. There are some beautiful parks to stroll in, such as Elswoud, Middenduin and Koningshof, all within 2 -3 km distance, easily reached by foot or by bike.

We live in a quiet street in Overveen. There are shops a few minutes by bike. Haarlem is nearby and can be reached on foot or by bike, Amsterdam is 17 minutes by train from Haarlem station, or 20 minutes by car.

We waren heel tevreden over de ruil, het huis was fijn, de tuin heerlijk, en Caen is een prachtige stad. De bewoners hadden veel informatie achtergelaten over mooie wandelingen en fietstochten in de omgeving, waar we veel aan hadden. We hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad in dit huis!
Het huis was ruim en heel fijn van sfeer en het contact met Rein en zijn gezin heel hartelijke en prettig. Het voldoet helemaal aan de beschrijving en we voelden ons er onmiddellijk thuis. We gaan er graag nog eens heen.
Beautiful house, close to Haarlem and Amsterdam. 10 minutes ride to dunes and nature.
Jordi and his family was extremely friendly and attentive. The house was very comfortable, we immediately felt at home there and on very hot days we read on the big and comfortable couches. The private swimming pool was the cherry on the cake - our daughters loved it and so did we. It was a great place to relax and do excursions to some of the nearby towns, such as Reus and Barcelona. We also did some biking in the surrounding mountains. We had a great time!

We are Frank and Judith.
We live close to the city as well as close to the beach, forest, park and lakes. We like to walk, cycle and swim.
Frank is a journalist and Judith is director of an international literature festival. We have two daughters who are now adults and who are now living in Amsterdam, but who sometimes accompany us part of the time on holiday.
We have a lovely large house with a garden, suitable for 4-6 people. We are looking for something similar as an exchange object. The location - preferably in nature, but not far from a city - is most important to us. We are interested in southern countries where we can go to by car or train and which our daughters can reach by plane. Preferably (northern) Spain: near Barcelona, Gerona, San Sebastian, Santander or Bilbao.
