We live in a quiet neighbourhood, on the very south-side of Leiden, with an fantastic open view over the fields, on about 10 minutes from the old city-centre of Leiden, with good public transport (railway-station at 5 min., bus-stop at 2 min.)
Our house is spacious, modern and light with a southern garden on the waterfront.
The kitchen is modern and comfortable, the living room is large, we have 3 sleeping rooms and a dressing room. The sleeping room on the top-floor has a large terrace/balcony with a splendid view. The bathroom at the first floor is provided with bath, shower, watercloset and two washingstands. The house has a lofty space from the ground level to the roof.
Leiden has 120.000 inhabitants. It's a very old city, founded approximately in the year 1000 after Christ. It has the eldest university of the Netherlands. There are many old buildings, churches, gateways and walls, mills, museums (archaeology, ethnology f.e.) and art galeries. There are also theatres, cinemas and a very well known botanical garden.
Big cities in the surroundings are easy attainable by train or car: Den Haag 15 km, Amsterdam 35 km, Haarlem 35 km, Delft 20 km, Utrecht 45 km, Rotterdam 35 km, Antwerpen (Belgium) 120 km, Paris 500 km.
The sea with large sand-beaches is at 10 km (Noordwijk, Katwijk or Scheveningen).
There is a direct train-connection (20 min.) from Schiphol-Airport to Leiden.
