French Provence near the historical city of Avignon.
Chateauneuf de Gadagne is a small and pleasant village close to the historical city of Avignon in Provence (many UNESCO world heritage sites): our location is a good compromise between town and countryside environments. Staying in Chateauneuf de Gadagne will let you discover the french Provence flavour. Depending on your mood:
-Avignon; old historical city with its famous bridge and Pope palace, museums, and of course its famous theater festival, 15 min by car.
-Near Roman or Medieval places; exceptional Pont du Gard, Arena of Arles or Nimes, Roman theather in Orange, Vaison la Romaine, Senanque Abbey, city of Aix en Provence, about 45 min.
-In close proximity to authentic Provence villages (Alpilles or Luberon : villages of Saint-Remy de Provence with the Van Gogh's paintings, Gordes, Les Baux de Provence, Roussillon with its ochre quarries...), about 30 min.
-In the middle of Provence food and wines; typical markets, good taste fruits and vegetables and world-renowned wines (Gigondas, Chateauneuf du Pape, Tavel), within 30 min.
-Near nature spots: Mont Ventoux (hiking, biking, climbing), the Camargue and its birds and horses, or the Verdon Gorges, 45 min to 2 h00.
-Near the Mediteranean sea; blue sea-Marseille or Grau du Roi-Montpellier coasts, about 1 hour and a half.
-And why not Paris with the TGV train direct from Avignon (less than 3 hours).
Surely you will enjoy the Provence flavour!
Our individual three half-storey home is modern, in a quiet place, and is fully equipped, with a terrace garden where you can eat, rest and listen to the song of the cicadas in summer. It is spacious: 150m2 for the house (+ a 25m2 storeroom) and 1,000 m2 for the garden. It is ideal for families. Children will find appropriate activities as many toys, boarding games, a ping-pong table and a PS4 console. Our house comprises: a light and large living room (with TV, DVD, Musics, wood stove, ...) ; a modern American kitchen with all the appliances (oven, dishwasher, microwave, freezer, ...); three children' (one with a double bed) and one parents' (with a king size bed) bedrooms; two bathrooms (one with a bath, one with a shower) ; an office and a spacious laundry/storeroom where you find everything that could be lacking! The house is fully air-conditioned. Finally, the recycling (compost, plastic, glass,...) is seriously carried out. We are taking well care of all our things …and we will take care of others’ also.
Chateauneuf de Gadagne provides first facilities: bakery, press and grocery stores, Post office and small market on Tuesday evenings. There is also a leisure pool in Gadagne, and a nice City Stade (for cycling, in-line skating and scootering) less than 300 m far away from our house. Gadagne is equidistant from the A7 motorway south or north Avignon exits (20 minutes each). Two very big shopping malls can be reached in 20 minutes with the whole of usual shops and cinemas (one in the north and the other in the south).
