We live in central Scotland on a hillside overlooking Stirling castle (the original seat of the Kings of Scotland). This area is packed full of history and both Edinburgh and Glasgow are 45 minutes away by rail or car. Perth is 30 minutes by rail or car. St Andrews is 80 minutes by car. We have a large family house with three bedrooms three bathrooms. Downstairs there is a large fully equipped kitchen with breakfast area, utility room, lounge, sunroom with dining area. There are three bedrooms, two have ensuite shower rooms. There is an additional family bathroom. The house is built on the hillside so there are plenty of steps and wonderful views to the mountains and plenty sunlight in the house and garden. There is a hillside 9 hole golf course 1km from the house and many other excellent courses to choose from nearby.

About the neighborhood
Bridge of Allan is a small village to the north of Stirling. It has a railway station with frequent service to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and cities in the north. The main motorway is just 2km from the village and by car or rail Edinburgh and Glasgow are 45 minutes away. Bridge of Allan is very central for visiting many parts of Scotland.
Bridge of Allan is a beautiful old spa village with lovely river and hill walks direct from our house, nice cafes, restaurants and shops all walkable from the house. We have lovely views to the mountains and stirling castle from our back garden.

A lovely time skiing and meeting the family
It is a Scottish family of 5. The parents are still im my house in Croatia while I write this, and, if I understood right, (grownup) children stayed only for a week and left. House is definitely presented correctly, except that it is much bigger than I expected and the surroundings is amaizing. Inspired by what she saw in Bridge of Allan, where we had stayed, my wife commented that in Scotland, every house was built like a castle. It is a family of intelectuals and music fans and players, and that gives part of the good atmosphere in the house.

We joined INTERVAC in 2007 and enjoyed a number of exchanges until 2018. We then had a break from INTERVAC until now. Here we are now in 2026 getting started again and looking forward to exchanging homes again.
We are a family of 5 with 3 grown up children: two daughters, Annie (30) and Sarah (28) and our son Gavin (32). Sometimes (not always) one or all of them will come on exchange with us. Julie is a University Lecturer and Paul is a Scientist Health service manager. We love travel and visiting other countries to learn about the culture and way of life. We have found INTERVAC is a wonderful way to meet families and make friends in other countries and we love sharing our home in this way. We enjoy river and lake activities (swimming, canoeing, boating) and cycling, hill-walking, music, singing, concerts.
