Lovely house in South of London, Great Britain. Excellent access to central London, the coast and countryside.
House.
A 3-storey house with clean decor and light rooms. Kitchen with all modern facilities and a utility room. Main double bedroom plus another double bedroom. Two additional bedrooms. One of these is in the roof extension with both a single bed and a sofa bed and lovely views. In addition to the 4 bedrooms there is a double sofa bed in the front living room. So we can actually take 9 people without difficulty.
Area.
Croydon is a thriving suburb of London with its own culture - well-known concert hall and theatre, as well as excellent shopping facilities - including IKEA. Historically the worlds first international airport was located here and the Archbishops of Canterbury had a Palace. There are lots of golf courses in the area - the nearest about 1km.
South Croydon, where we live, is renowned for its many restaurants. The house is in a quiet residential neighbourhood very close to a lovely and diverse nature reserve with good views over the area.
Transport.
We are perfectly placed for all transport links. Gatwick Airport is just 17 miles/27km from us. Dover Ferry and the Channel Tunnel are less than 90 minutes by car. We have a drive with space for two cars.
At the end of the road is a bus stop with buses every 20 minutes into Croydon and beyond.
Nearby are two railway stations - Sanderstead - 20 minutes to London Victoria (for Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Harrods, Museums etc.) or South Croydon - 25 minutes to London Bridge ( for the Tower of London, the Shard, St Paul's Cathedral, the Globe, Tate Modern gallery etc.)
Croydon has its own tram network and you can take the Tram as far as Wimbledon (Tennis).
A drive of only 10 minutes will take you into nearby countryside where there are many opportunities for walking. A 15 minute drive will get you to the London orbital M25 or M23 (Gatwick Airport).

A delightful family home on the outskirts of Rennes. Very good access to public transport (both bus and light train) which is easy to use. The house is light and airy. Everywhere was very clean. Nice garden surrounding the house. Very quiet neighbourhood. Easy to reach main roads to visit other centres. Tourist sights in reach - St Malo and Mont St Michel less than an hour. Very good communication with Laetitia and with Pierre.
We had a wonderful exchange with Roger and Sue, who were very easy to communicate with and kindly welcomed us upon our arrival. Their home is pleasant and comfortable. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Everything was very clean. Access to London is easy thanks to the nearby train stations. It is also easy to visit the south of England. We enjoyed the terrace and garden.
A delightful home in a quiet suburb of Stockholm. located on an island. Public transport into the city is excellent due to the nearby tram linking with the Metro. Stockholm is a beautiful city and we found plenty to keep us occupied, both in the city and on our travels beyond the city. The house has plenty of space for a family to spread themselves. There are 3 balconies, 2 offering views over the nearby shipping channel (watch the ferries come in first thing whilst enjoying breakfast), as well as a patio and garden. We warmly recommend Ingvar and Marie as excellent exchange partners.
A very comfortable and lovely home. Delightful hosts. Easy access to major sites like the Rocky Mountains.
